Kate Middleton stunned everyone as she stepped on the red carpet of the Royal Albert Hall in London for the premiere of the latest Bond movie, "Spectre" on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Wearing a sheer, pale blue floor-length gown, the Duchess opted to go braless, revealing her bare back.
The long-sleeved gown featured a crossover front with a modest V-neck in flowy chiffon. It had a sparkling, intricately beaded belt that highlighted the princess' slim figure. While the dress looked conservative in the front, the back featured a peephole which hinted that the princess was not wearing anything underneath the garment.
The custom-made gown was made by Middleton's go-to designer, Jenny Packham. This was the second time in a week that the Duchess of Cambridge wore a dress from the designer. She wore a gorgeous red Jenny Packham gown during the State Banquet last Oct. 20. According to InStyle UK, this Cinderella-inspired dress is worth between £3,000 to £4,000 .
Middleton paired her dress with sparkling platform heels by Jimmy Choo, a pair she has previously worn in public at least four other times.
She kept her hair in a curly up-do and completed her look with chandelier earrings from jewelry designer Robinson Pelham, worth £14,300. For her purse, Middleton carried the Casa Crystal Clutch, £455, from the same dress designer.
Since Middleton is known for her conservative, royal-appropriate choice of outfits, fashion watchers speculate if her recent daring look is a statement of defiance against the royal family, particularly Queen Elizabeth. Celebrity Dirty Laundry reported that the Queen is controlling Middleton's every move, and has even ordered to lower her skirts' hems. According to the gossip site, the duchess' outfits may seem like a "non-issue," but to the royal family, going braless in public is quite telling that "Kate is not backing down."
