A party is happening on tonight's episode of TLC's "Sister Wives," and the Brown Family is in a flurry trying to organize the last-minute event. The party is to celebrate the adoption of Robyn's three kids, which has been officially approved in last week's emotional episode.
Tonight's episode, entitled "Chaos in the Cul-de-Sac," will shift gears, as shown in the recently released preview from TLC. The video begins with Robyn's three kids packing their bags to visit their biological father in Montana, who they haven't seen for two years. Robyn and Kody nervously look on.
"When they're there, they come back different. And it's a strange thing," Kody says. "One of the reasons I think we need to have the party as well is to get them back in the groove of the family after they've been gone."
While the kids are away, Kody and the sister wives prepare for the party, which is set 11 days away. With time not on their side, all four wives gather around Kody to finalize the preparations, but this results in tension among them.
Kody wants a manly grub of barbeque and hot wings, but the ladies are having none of it.
"You told me that you wanted a nice, Sunday dinner," Robyn tells him, insisting to use nice plates and fancy napkins. "Chicken wings don't fit nice," she adds.
"No drumsticks, no wings," wife number 3 Christine agrees.
Outnumbered, Kody tells the wives, "I'm not making that argument so just ease up!"
The intense moment indicates how important the adoption is to their unconventional family. Meri Brown, Kody's first and only legal wife, even had to divorce him so he could marry Robyn and proceed with the process.
"We had to do the restructuring so that we would do the adoption," Meri told People Magazine. "That was something that I decided to do just for the purpose of the kids. And the adoption, it was something that I knew that they wanted to have their legal name Brown. They really wanted to be adopted."
