Nicki Minaj is on the spotlight again after slamming a Halloween costume inspired by Bill Cosby's rape victim and for allegedly making fun of a disabled person on her Oct. 31 video.
The 32-year-old rapper didn't hide her dismay over an Instagram post during the Halloween, titled "Pill Cosby." The said post highlighted a man wearing women's clothing pretending to look passed out with a drink in hand. A Bill Cosby blow-up doll appeared to be hugging the person from behind, with one hand placing drugs in the cocktail while the other is reaching inside her blouse. Minaj did not approve of the distasteful costume.
The "Starships" singer found the picture posted by the the CEO of Desert Storm Records, DJ Clue. She made a screengrab of the post and captioned it with, "Our generation is so desensitized." Many followers of Minaj did not find the costume funny either, according to Billboard. They backed the former "American Idol" judge's statement. One fan posted a comment saying, "This isn't what Halloween is about."
Meanwhile, the "Super Bass" singer could not seem to dust off Halloween controversies as she herself faced backlash from critics for purportedly mocking a person with disability in her Oct. 31 video post on Instagram.
In the IG post which she later deleted, Minaj, who was wearing a sexy fairy costume complete with wand and tiara, was seen having fun with a couple of friends. She then pointed her wand toward something, made a sound and uttered "walk." Before the video was cut, the camera captured a woman who seemed to be in a wheelchair.
Many people who have seen the video criticized the "Feeling Myself" singer saying her actions are offensive to the community of people with disabilities, reported E! News. Minaj later replied to a tweet by a reporter, addressing the issue.
According to the singer-rapper, she wasn't making fun of a disabled person. The woman who appeared to be sitting on the wheelchair was her friend who was on a scooter.
