‘The Incredibles 2’ Movie Release Date, Cast, Update, Spoilers: Disney Pixar Film's Script Nears Completion; Jack-Jack to Become Villain in July 2019?

"The Incredibles 2," the sequel to acclaimed 2004 Pixar animated film "The Incredibles," is currently in active development. The highly anticipated Disney movie about the superhero family is slated for release on July 21, 2019.

Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed in March 2014 that Pixar was already starting to work on "The Incredibles 2." However, news was left hanging for a while because the film's writer and director, Brad Bird, was still in the middle of writing the sequel.

The "Ratatouille" director previously confirmed that he will still be directing "The Incredibles 2," but he was also busy with science-fiction mystery adventure film, "Tomorrowland."

In an interview with Collider, Bird revealed the real score on the movie's release date, saying, "Release dates are a little fluid when you're making films so far in advance."

When asked about how the story is doing, the filmmaker said: "I have the story arc. I'm probably three-quarters through the script, first pass through the script, but we're already boarding parts of it."

There is still no official news about the story plot, but Wikia suggested that "The Incredibles 2" might focus on Jack-Jack, the youngest in the family. In the first movie, Jack-Jack was just barely starting to unleash his power.

It is speculated that the movie sequel will start off with six-year old Jack-Jack. Helen and Bob are on the process of retiring from the life of a superhero, leaving Dash and Violet to take over their crime fighting family business. However, things will turn from bad to worse as Jack-Jack grows up into a villain due to his inability to control his powers.

Aside from "The Incredibles" family, two other characters are believed to be making a comeback. Samuel L. Jackson ("Avengers") revealed in an interview that Frozone, his character whose super-power enables him to freeze water and moisture, will return in the sequel. Jason Lee ("Alvin and the Chipmunks") is also expected to reprise his role in the upcoming movie.
