"The Librarians" is back on the small screen for its second season and had just premiered with episode 1 and 2 back-to-back last Sunday.
During the New York Comic Con 2015, "The Librarians" panel shared some details on what to expect in Season 2. While the main characters are completely normal with extraordinary talents in certain areas, there will be more magic and fictional characters coming to life this season. James Moriarty is the main villain for the entire season who was conjured up by Prospero.
The films and the first season of "The Librarians" are about preventing magic from being released into the world -- artifacts must be returned to the library. The second season will deal with the consequences of the magic's release, as they try to bring the genie back in the bottle, said executive producer Dean Devlin.
Lindy Booth (Cassandra Cillian) said, "I think with magic existing now, it makes [our world] more limitless." She added, "How do we begin to live in a world where both [magic and science] need to exist together?
According to Devlin, the librarians are going to spend more time curing the library and they are also going to an alternate universe, which Rebecca Romijn (Eve Baird) said they all loved doing. There will also be a time-loop episode which will feature Ezekiel Jones, played by John Kim, as the hero.
In a NYCC Q&A from Hidden Remote, Kim said that "for the first time ever you're going to see his leadership qualities that I think he always had but he didn't necessarily know that he did. To come out and exhibit those was a lot of fun because I get to play Ezekiel the leader as opposed to Ezekiel the douchebag."
Will there be a romance this season? Romijn said, "Maybe! I don't want to spoil anything." She shared that she and Moriarty "work against each other and together to help Flynn and Prospero. I have to keep reminding him and me that he's not real. So, you never know."
"The Librarians" also stars Christian Kane (Jake Stone) and John Larroquette (Jenkins). Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle) will be in half of the whole season. Wyle also directed an episode.
"The Librarians" airs every Sunday, 9 p.m. on TNT.
