Bethesda has just released the "Fallout 4" Pip-Boy app, a mobile app that is a fully functional replica of the Pip Boy screen as it appears in the "Fallout" game.
Pip-Boy Mobile App is an app that connects to PS4, Xbox One and PC with the running "Fallout 4" game. The app will turn the smartphone into a fully functional Pip-Boy that perfectly interacts with the game. Using the app, the player can do a lot of in-game enhancements -- from injecting power-inducing chemicals to equipping gears and items -- without stopping the game. The second screen map will be one of the useful features if the player is using a bigger tablet.
According to Arstechnica, the app connects to the game through Wi-Fi network. By enabling the "Pip-Boy App" setting in the game, the mobile app scans to find any "Fallout 4" game running on the same local network.
Bethesda will also release a "Fallout 4" Pip-Boy Edition where the disk will come along with Pip-Boy replica called the Rufus Cuff, RobCo industry stand and capsule case. The Rufus Cuff is a wearable device that replicates the in-game model, where the player can put their smartphones and navigate the Pip-Boy App while holding the game console's controller or PC's keyboard.
Although it is already available for download, users cannot do much about the app yet since the game that is needed to be synced in the app is not yet available. Good thing is, the app has a demo mode to get the users familiar with it while waiting for the "Fallout 4" release. It also has games like "Atomic Command," a "Fallout" themed game based on "Missile Command," as reported by The Verge.
The highly anticipated game, "Fallout 4" is scheduled to launch on Nov. 10 for PS4, Xbox One and PC along with the Pip-Boy edition, Fallout Beer (available only in the UK) and Nuka Cola Quantum Soda.
