The Surface Pro 4 has hit it big time. Consumers who want to get their hands on the latest hybrid with the specifications they want may have to sit in queue for quite a while, since not all variants are readily available. Stocks are also very limited even with third-party stores.
Microsoft's latest hybrid tablet is offered with different variants. From the processors, RAM, and storage -- which is actually a common practice with other laptops and tablet manufacturers. Currently, the entry level with the Core M3 processor has the lowest RAM and storage option and is not configurable. While the Intel i5 and i7 equipped tablets should have options available for its RAM and storage, though it is possible, but limited.
Large storage options are currently not available on Microsoft's website. The i5 is only available with a 128GB SSD, while the i7 is with the 256GB storage option. Now, Microsoft is not allowing consumers to configure a pre-order.
Best Buy, on the other hand, is offering an i5-equipped Surface Pro 4 with a 512GB SSD that will be released on Nov. 23. Only an i7 and no i5 processor is available with B&H. This comes with a 512GB storage with 16GB of RAM. No availability date has yet been offered by B&H.
Amazon seems to follow what Microsoft is offering, with the M3 and i5 Surface Pro 4 being available but not the i7 variant. The M3 equipped tablet comes only with 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD, while the i5 tablet is with an 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD.
Hopefully, Microsoft is working double time with their production of the Surface Pro 4. Holiday shopping is almost within reach and consumers may want to buy another tablet by another brand with the current scenario. Still, many consumers are willing to wait for their desired configuration to be available soon.
