Serena Williams Pursued a Phone Snatcher; Declares She is a Super Hero

Serena Williams was having a nice dinner with a friend last Nov. 3 in San Francisco. Little did she know that her intense training would be put to a test on that quiet evening. Instinctively, she got her phone back before the thief could even run away.

Serena herself posted the entirety of the incident on her Faceboo account. Though the post was already a day after the incident, one can still feel how happy she was for foiling the incident. She even put up an advice to her fans, specifically to girls out there, to be vigilant in these kinds of situations and to not just be another victim.

According to the Facebook post of the tennis superstar, when a man was strangely standing beside her for far too long, she said to herself that this is not right. So she kept an eye on the stranger. She then said that the man had suddenly seized her phone from the chair and began running away. Serena tried alerting the crowd by shouting out that the man had taken her phone. She then started to run after him, even doing a hurdle-like jump over the chairs on her path. "Those sprints came in handy," Serena added, as reported by the TechTimes.

Lucky enough, Serena was able to catch the man, and lucky for him, no tennis rackets were with her during the incident, nor did he get a backhand to the face that would have knocked him out. She also added that the thief even tried to squeeze himself out of the situation. According to her, the man was reasoning out that he just got the wrong phone because of some sort of confusion.

Serena then added, "Just because you are a lady, don't be afraid to step up to any challenge and [to] not be a victim but a hero!"

Surely, Serena deserves a round of applause for her bravery.
