"Outlander" Season 2 may have already found its Brianna Randall, Movie News Guide reported. According to the outlet, several footages of audition tapes were leaked on the Internet and these clips featured actresses vying to play the role of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Randall's (Caitriona Balfe) daughter.
The outlet reported that fans previously believed that actress Maeve Foley has been chosen to play the role after her name was mentioned in one tweet. However, executive producer Maril Davis immediately responded to the rumors and said that they have not yet found the actress to play the role of Brianna and that fans should wait for announcements from the show's official social media accounts.
While "Outlander" Season 2 is still short of updates, including its release date on Starz, showrunner Ron Moore recently expressed his desire to see the show renewed for a third season.
"I'm very hopeful. We're talking about doing a third season now and I'm pretty sure we're going to get it," Moore told BBC Scotland (via Scotland Now).
The showrunner revealed that he would be "shocked" if Starz does not renew the series for Season 3 given that the show has captivated fans and viewers worldwide in its first season. The show has a lot of impact on the audience, to the extent that it has boosted Scotland's tourism.
"Outlander" Season 2 will be based on Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber." The upcoming season is expected to premiere in March or April 2016 on Starz.
