With what happened to "The Flash," Zoom seems to be impossible to defeat. CBR says "no trap, no speed, not even lightning could stop Zoom," although Cesco almost got him when he fired that gun. That only stopped the speedster with a scary mask from finishing Barry off, but not defeated him- well not at that moment.
Aside from the intense scene of Zoom and "The Flash," CBR says that one of the things that also stood out in episode 6 is the genuine conversation of Barry and Joe West. "In one of the best scenes of the episode, Joe encourages Barry to choose life, to choose love, to choose what is more important to him. Joe West continues to be one the most honest, emotionally poignant characters."
USA Today gives things that were its favorite in "The Flash" episode 6. One of those points that were highlighted by the online magazine is the freefall fight. The mag says "it's falling with style." Also, the critic says that the TV series has never made her feel horrified every 5 seconds, but when she watched the fight scene, she's been audibly grasping in horror. "I swear to god. The show never felt like it had real consequences before, but in the last 10 minutes of the episode, it achieved just that," she added.
EW on the other hand says that "The Flash" episode 6 has "certainly showcased the frightening power of its titular villain after a few weeks of the foe's silly plan to send underlings after Barry."
