‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers & Cast News: Ian McShane Drops Hints for His New Role in HBO Series' Upcoming Season

The much-awaited "Game of Thrones" Season 6 has been creating buzz over the Internet again as recent reports about the latest cast actor revealed that HBO would possibly bring a dead character in the series back to life.

British actor Ian McShane is the latest addition to "Game of Thrones" Season 6 cast, as reported by Inquisitr. The actor spilled some important information for "spoiler-thirsty" fans of the hit fantasy series,

McShane, 73, who was best known for his role in HBO's "Deadwood," will only be seen in one episode of the upcoming season. HBO has not yet revealed his character in Season 6, which is expected to premiere in spring 2016.

"I'll give you one hint," said McShane in an interview with Pop Goes The News. "I am responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you're never going to see again. I'll leave it at that."

Speculations have quite expectedly come abound coming from "Game of Thrones" viewers, theorizing on which character McShane could probably bring back in the hit series.

Although his character will only be appearing for one episode and won't be getting much screen time, his role is still expected to be quite important. Many fans expressed their beliefs that the actor might be bringing back Jon Snow (Kit Harington) from the dead considering how Season 5 ended. In the shocking season 5 finale episode, the Night's Watch Lord Commander was betrayed and stabbed to death by his followers and was last seen lying in a pool of blood.

The devastating shocker to the last season did not leave fans doubting Harington's return. After the season 5 finale was shown, many social media posts speculated the return of Jon Snow in the upcoming season. One of the most common theories suggested that Snow will be saved by Melisandre, the red priestess who has the ability to bring back the dead. Another theory suggested that Snow may have survived by warging into Ghost, his direwolf.

Some fans believe that it might not be about Jon Snow at all, and that McShane will be playing The Elder Brother alongside The Hound. This theory would actually make sense considering that the character was not featured greatly in the books.

Official confirmation of "Game Of Thrones" Season 6 premiere date has not been released yet but, media outlets reported it might happen in late April to May next year.
