‘Jessica Jones' Premiere Sparks Questions About 'Iron Fist' and Other Hero Series for Netflix; Marvel CCO: Netflix is Retooling

Marvel's "Jessica Jones" will hit Netflix on Friday, and superhero fans are super excited. With the success of Marvel's venture with Netflix in "Daredevil," it's expected that many people will just drop other plans and go binge-watching instead. With this news, it looks like Marvel is expanding the list of superheroes to be seen on Netflix. While the introduction of the third among four characters has been accomplished, Marvel Studios is doing it slow with Iron Fist, that has led the fans into the assumption that Iron Fist has been scrapped.

But Marvel Studios' Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada, has denied the scrapping issue. According to him, Netflix and Marvel are retooling "Iron Fist" in favor of "Punisher." There was an announcement that said, "Iron Fist," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage" and "Daredevil" will be getting a total of 13 episodes each for stand-alone series. When every hero has been finally debuted, "The Defenders" will also be joining in soon.

Charlie Cox's "Daredevil" has already debuted, and "Jessica Jones" which stars Krysten Ritter, will also be coming out this Friday. They have also promised to make Luke Cage as the main character of his own series next year. There was no mention about "Iron Fist" yet. Even the studio has not mentioned any actor as a cast member, making others think that any plans may have been dropped for the martial arts hero.

Though there were rumors spreading that "Iron First" would be scrapped to give way for Netflix original films, the series would be passed on to Berthal's, who will eventually be a member of the Defenders. But that won't be the case for "Iron Fist" or Danny Rand's followers, according to Quesada.

With all these rumors, Quesada has not offered details on what is expected to happen, but instead he shared the possibility of "Punisher" getting extended roles after "Daredevil" Season 2.
