'Game of Thrones' Just Confirmed Jon Snow is Alive; See First Official Season 6 Poster Here

The fate of Jon Snow may be television's best-kept secret. Stabbed to death in "Game of Thrones" season 5 finale, the character's tragic fate is unacceptable for many die-hard fans. And now, did HBO just confirm that Jon Snow is, in fact, still alive?

"Game of Thrones" verified Twitter account released its first official artwork for season 6 last Monday, Nov. 23. The poster shows the face of Jon Snow -- bloodied, but seemingly alive. No taglines were needed, just a simple "April" in the standard GoT font, referring to its release date.

The picture is dark and grim, but for the show's avid fans, its message is clear. Whether as a half-human or broken by Melisandre's magic, Jon Snow is definitely coming back in season 6.

In fact, actor Kit Harington has been spotted several times in Northern Ireland in full Jon Snow attire, shooting scenes for the show. Like HBO producers, he has been silent about his part on the set, but he did give a cryptic interview last September.

"Let's just say that 'Game of Thrones' will remain a part of my life for a while, I'll probably be in my thirties when it's over," Harington, 28, said.

Harington was last spotted shooting a battle scene with actress Sophie Turner, his half-sister Sansa Stark in the series. The latest theory is that Jon Snow and Sansa will finally reunite to drive away the Boltons and reclaim Winterfell.

Meanwhile, fans at Watchers on the Wall are ecstatic over the teaser poster, which has two good news embedded in the artwork. Aside from Jon Snow's return, HBO has also confirmed that "Game of Thrones" season 6 will premiere in April, not in May as it was previously reported.
