Supercell explained the Village Guard and Personal Breaks features of the "Clash of Clans" Town Hall 11 update in its second sneak peek.
Supercell announced its first sneak peek on Nov. 24 Tuesday, which is all about "Shields: Attacking and Defending." The company then posted a follow up announcement tackling the second part of the "Shield" update, which it described as "Shield: Village Guard and Personal Breaks."
To support the changes explained in "Clash of Clans" first sneak peek, "online time," together with "shield time," is introduced. The "Village Guard" is the player's "Online Time Support." It acts as if the player is online while they are taking a break when activated. The good thing is that attacking through "Village Guard" is free. When the village's shield expires, "Village Guard" will activate automatically for 15 minutes to three hours long depending on League. When the shield is gone, CoC players can buy two hours extra "Village Guard" every day. This will cost 10 gems and cools down after 23 hours. Dismissing active "Village Guard" is possible anytime. It can also be dismissed by buying a shield from the shop.
Another highlight of the new Town Hall 11 update is the new "Personal Break System." This system lets everyone defend frequently. It will limit the time the player can stay online to make sure that everyone undergoes regular attacking and regular defending. To be fair, the following changes are established:
- Playing for three straight hours without shield will force players to go offline for six minutes.
- Acquiring a shield will reset this Personal Break three-hour limit.
- Current Personal Break three-hour limit of a player can be extended for two hours by buying the two-hour Village Guard.
- If maintenance occurs, Personal Break three-hour limit will automatically pause.
Lots of changes have been revealed so far but there's more to come. League Bonuses and Trophy will be discussed in the next post. Supercell gives a completely detailed explanation about the revamped shield system in its online forum.
