New 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers Suggest Jon Snow's Resurrection May Involve His Dire Wolf and Melisandre

Early this week, HBO has raised Jon Snow from his supposed death by releasing the first official poster for "Game of Thrones" season 6 with the famous character front and center. Fans have taken this tiny piece of clue and now, spoilers have surfaced as to how Jon Snow's resurrection will take place.

Watchers on the Wall, a popular site for "GoT" fans, reported that filming in Belfast is still on-going and the latest actress to be spotted was Carice van Houten. In the series, van Houten portrays Lady Melisandre, a.k.a. The Red Witch. She is believed to have magical powers from the Lord of Light, powers that can even bring back the dead to life.

The report stated that van Houten's scene was heavily guarded and kept from onlookers, but sources confirmed that Jon Snow's direwolf, Ghost, will play a huge part in his resurrection. The ball-on-a-stick used for direwolf scenes requiring CGI effects was said to be spotted along with van Houten.

On the season 5 finale, Melisandre left Stannis Baratheon and immediately headed to the Wall for an unknown business, before Jon Snow was stabbed to death. Many fans have always believed that Melisandre's appearance was no coincidence, as she is probably the only one who can resurrect the young Lord Commander.

Van Houten has previously hinted that her character will play a big part on Jon Snow's future. Speaking with The New Daily last June, just after the season 5 cliffhanger, the actress said, "You've seen her clock Jon Snow, which is a great ending because you think, 'Uh oh, what's going to happen there?' You feel that she is concentrating more and more towards Jon Snow ... there are slight hints that something's going to happen."

As for Ghost, fans are hoping that his participation in bringing his master back to life will not end tragically. The Stark children's fates have become entwined with their pets, and viewers have already seen two direwolf deaths thus far.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 is set to premiere on April 24, 2016.
