TLC's top-rating reality series, "90 Day Fiance," is getting the ire of many fans over a shocking discovery that suggests the show could be all but a farce. A fan recently exposed that Nikki, one of the foreign fiances in season 3, might not be totally honest about who she says she is in the show.
According to the show's introductions, Nikki is a 19-year-old girl from the Philippines. She met 58-year-old Mark while he is on vacation in the country. Their May-December relationship is one of the more talked-about highlights of the season.
However, a Twitter fan named "90 Day Fiance Fan" recently posted a screenshot of a modelling agency showing a fully made-up Nikki, whose real name is Nikki Rose Gervise. Her profile on Explore Talent Agency also states that she is from Los Angeles, California.
"Is this whole show a farce?" the fan asked.
"If you have a lot of skeletons in your closet, why would you open yourself up and go on TV?" another asked, adding the hashtag "#90DayFiance."
Nikki and Mark are no strangers to online criticisms. In TLC's on-going online poll about which among the couples will likely to get married, the pair only got 5 percent of votes.
In episode 7 aired last Sunday, Nov. 22, Nikki complained about Mark's incessant stories about his ex-wife.
"I'm marrying a weird guy," she exclaimed, which made many fans of the show vocally air their strong opinions against the pair.
"Taking bets that Mark is going to pull out his ex-wife's wedding dress for Nikki next week. Poor thing. She deserves much better," one fan tweeted.
Another added that Nikki and Mark look like the "unhappiest couple" she has ever seen.
"90 Day Fiance" follows the adventures of six cross-country couples trying to beat the three-month deadline before their foreign fiance's U.S. visa expires.
TLC has made no official comment about this new revelation about Nikki. Two more episodes are slated to air before season 3 wraps up. Episode 8 airs tonight, Nov. 29 at 9 p.m. ET. Watch Nikki and Mark's casting video below:
