'Outlander' Season 2 Trailer is Finally Here! Jamie and Claire Try to Change the Past to Save Their Future; Will Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe Succeed? [WATCH]

Good news for "Outlander" fans, the wait for season 2 is getting shorter by the day. Starz has just released "Outlander" Season 2's first official trailer, ending the dry spell that fans dubbed as "drought-lander."

The trailer, gives fans a glimpse of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and his leading lady, Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) as they travel from Scotland to France. The two will attempt to save Scotland from warring with England in the infamous Battle of Culloden.

"Let's talk about the future, and how we're going to change it," Claire says in the voiceover.

"Change the past, save their future," the tagline teases.

Although the sneak peek only runs for one minute, it's enough to get fans excited. Jamie and Claire have ditched their Scottish garb and are transformed into glamorous Parisian socialites. For the first time, fans can see Jamie wear pants, and not his traditional kilts. As for Claire, she looks stunning in her ball gowns and new hairstyle.

As an added hype, there's a short scene that shows the two on a bed, and Claire's pregnant belly is obvious. The clip also shows an encounter with King Louis XIV, and Claire dining with the French aristocracy as Starz has previously teased.

To make fans more excited about the upcoming season 2, Starz promised that the trailer is only the first of "many more 'Outlander' offerings coming this month."

"Outlander" is based on Diana Gabaldon's eight-part novels of the same title. It follows the story of Jamie, a Scottish laird, and Claire, a married nurse from 1945 who falls back in time to 18th century Scotland. In season 1, fans saw the two escape to France after Jamie's near-death experience at the hands of English officer Jack Randall. To make the situation even more twisted, Jack is a descendent of Claire's 20th century husband.

"Outlander" season 2 premiers April 2016. Watch the exciting trailer below:
