'Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom’ Finally Happening; Sequel Announced at PlayStation Experience 2015 Event

Bandai Namco has announced that a Ni No Kuni sequel is finally coming to PlayStation during the PlayStation Experience 2015 event.

"Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom," a sequel to "Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch," will be released exclusively on PlayStation 4. The first "Ni No Kuni" was released in 2013 which was well received and fans who fell in love with the game have been requesting for a follow up game since then. And they've been heard.

Developed by Level-5, in coordination with Studio Ghibli animators, "Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" tells a new story, featuring new sets of characters. The game also has an innovative gameplay design to make the gamer's experience more challenging and enjoyable.

Based on the trailer released, King Evan Pettywhisker has been unseated off the throne. His mother dies and he goes back to reclaim the kingdom. Roland, a visitor from another world, decided to stay and help the boy king in his journey to build a kingdom where everyone can be happy.

Akihiro Hino served as the Story and General Director, while Yoshiyuki Momose designed the characters and the music is care of Joe Hiashi.

"With its emotional storytelling, innovative gameplay, and breathtaking aesthetics, the original Ni no Kuni broke new ground in the RPG genre and became one of the most beloved and well-received games of 2013," said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America, Gematsu reports. "With Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, the artistic visionaries behind the first game are back to take their creative vision of a grand adventure to even higher heights that are sure to delight video game fans."
