"General Hospital's" Jacklyn Zeman recently opened up about her love life and revealed that she's ready for a new chapter in her life, including romance. According to Soap Opera Spy, Zeman's two daughters are now in their 20s and are living independently. In fact, Cassie, her eldest, is already engaged to be married.
"I'm finally going to have the son that I always wanted. I feel so blessed," Zeman reportedly told ABC's "Soaps in Depth."
However, the 62-year-old soap opera actress admitted that having an empty nest is not entirely a happy stage.
"You get that pang in your heart where it hurts when you see them walking out the door," she said.
Last Dec. 1, Zeman posted recent photos of herself and her two grown-up girls on her Twitter account.
"Happy mama," she wrote in one's caption.
Currently, the actress said that she's focusing on herself and her own future.
"I want a true, intimate, loving relationship. I'm ready to meet someone. I'm ready to make a man a priority in my life," she revealed.
Zeman has had her share of ups and downs when it comes to romance. The actress has been married three times before. In 2007, she divorced her last husband and father of her two daughters, Glenn Gorden, after 19 years of marriage.
Likewise, Zeman's character in "GH" could need a new page, the actress said. In the daytime drama, she plays Bobbie Spencer, a nurse in Port Charles who is the sister of Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary).
Zeman has been playing the role on and off since 1977. As reported by Yibada, Zeman recently reprised her role last July after a long hiatus. Since then, her storyline included a possible romance with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner). Can Scott and Bobbie find a "true, intimate, and loving relationship" just as Zeman wants for herself?
"General Hospital" airs Mondays to Fridays, 2 p.m., on ABC.
