"Legends of Tomorrow" is slated for release this January 21, 2016. But it appears that future seems not bright for the new DC TV series as it is only limited to season 1. The show is said to be replaced with cheaper series.
According to Melty, rumors about the fate of "Legend of Tomorrow" have been circulating online. One of these talks is about the cancelation of the second season of the show. This doesn't mean that that showrunners of this new DC TV series think that their show won't be a hit.
It surely will be, given that "Legends of Tomorrow" is composed of a bunch of awesome superheroes. Report states that the new DC TV series is simply too expensive. However, the site mentions that "these heroes/anti-villains will most likely return to their own respective shows or subsequent spin-offs." The reason for this is it practically generates more viewers. Thus, more TV audience definitely entails more money.
"Legends of Tomorrow" is somehow perceived as "TV version of Marvel's Avengers movies."As reported, it would like a "one-off coming together of heroes to fight a big, evil and powerful villain. Once they've defeated said villain, they can disband and go their separate ways (or back to their separate shows)." However, no one from The CW or the showrunners has confirmed the said rumors.
In a different note, Cross Map states that the latest trailer of "Legend of Tomorrow" has been released in its most cinematic TV series that anyone has even seen. This is just right because this new DC TV series is the "most dramatic, action-packed superhero TV series is coming this 2016."
Yibada on the other hand says that more characters are added in the "Legends of Tomorrow." It is mentioned that Huntress, Katana, Deathstroke and Vixen. It has also been noted that new DC TV series will "feature both heroes and villains from 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' series." These characters might be working under the lead of Rip Hunter, in order to defeat Vandal Savage.
