Adele's ‘25’ Continues Breaking Records in Its Second Week of Release; 'Hello' Singer Snubbed by the Grammys?

Adele's latest album "25" continues to prove its power with another record-breaking album sales record for the second week. It managed to sell over a million additional copies in the U.S. in the week ending Dec. 3, following its record-breaking first week of release.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Adele's comeback album remains to rock the no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The outlet said "25" finished its second week with solid album sales of 1.16 million, allowing the British songstress to become the first artist to top the one million mark in two weeks.

In the U.S., the singer-songwriter's album is still projected to sell additional seven million copies before 2016 ends.

It was earlier reported that the critically-acclaimed album "25" had sold over three million copies in the country in its first week of release alone. This feat allowed Adele to break the single-week sales record of N'Sync's 2000 album, "No Strings Attached." The boyband's album was moved to the second spot with 2.42 million album sales in its first week of release.

With her continuous success, Adele had another breakthrough when her recent BBC performance became the network's best-viewed video on Youtube. Since her BBC One sketch was uploaded on Nov. 20, where she "went undercover as an Adele impersonator," the clip has attracted more than 38 million views.

Meanwhile, the "Hello" singer did not get any Grammy nomination this year despite her "25's" smashing album sales. This is because the Grammy Awards only included the albums which were released from Oct. 1, 2014, to Sept. 30, 2015. The success of "25" was not in time to make it to the cut for the annual presentation ceremony. The nominees were already announced on Monday, Dec. 7.

The "Hello" hitmaker is said to be breaking more album sales records in the coming weeks. Adele, with her album "25," is more likely to dominate the Grammys and win various awards next year.
