Katsura HasHino, "Persona 5" director disclosed details about the game's plot, characters and settings during his interview with Game Informer.
Characters
The major character is a high school student, he is not like other "Persona" characters because he is more of a deceitful anti-hero whose story revolves around crime.
Hashino also characterized the rest of the protagonist as a blonde haired man in the group, playful but isolated as she spends most of her time in America. Morgana is the group's advisor although Hashino revealed she has her own vested interest.
Finally, at first glance, Morgana is just a mascot character in "Persona 5," however she has a deep understanding about "the other world, than the other characters in the game. Morgana is a proud teacher, and has a very specialized set of standards for the conduct of a phantom thief and projected aesthetics. On the other hand, Morgana doesn't have a clue about her roots and she is trying to get those answers by her quests.
Story and Setting
The story is set in Shibuya, the modern day Tokyo. The characters feel indifferent in this society, but when they come across a mysterious world they started to strive for a common objective. This objective is to get mean intent from people's hearts, so that the society they live in make the change this world set within the heart of the people. The place is called The Palace where the "mischievous sides" are overpowered in the everyday school life, are visualized and unleashed. The palace will have the similar function as "Persona 4" or "Persona 3" TARTARUS.
