Could there be a feud brewing between couples from past seasons of "90 Day Fiance?" Melanie and Devar of the recently concluded season 3 guested on "Dr. Phil" last Thursday, but season 2's Jason and Cassia seem to be unhappy about it.
On their official Facebook page, Jason Hitch and wife Cassia Tavares aired their rants about being dumped by Discovery Channel, the parent company of TLC. According to Hitch, they were supposed to guest on "Dr. Phil" but were suddenly replaced by the reality show's newer couple, Melanie and Devar.
"Discovery Channel, the parent company of TLC, refused to give footage of Cassia & I and TLC logo rights to the Dr.Phil show. Cassia and I were booked as guests on his show for a November 16th taping. Discovery stated we weren't allowed to do it because of our contract even though it is expired," Jason wrote. "Melanie and Devar were asked to be on the show and were filmed instead. So, that is the TV biz for ya! You win some. You lose some."

Jason further explained in the comments section that Discovery did the switch out of "spite."
"They despise Cassia and I doing media interview after the next. They want control. Being on Dr. Phil would not help Discovery or their franchise '90 Day.' It would only help us," the former reality star wrote. "They probably also prefer people from Season 3 to be out in the media because it's more fresh and it's better promotion for the immediate show and its reruns."
Meanwhile, Cassia also explained her side to the issue, supporting her husband's claims.
"I do not care about being there. Actually I was afraid because Dr. Phil can be kind of rude. But you guys know how Jason can be," she wrote on an Instagram comment. "We were waiting for flight confirmation and Discovery Channel confirmation. We got an email from Dr. Phil producer saying that Discovery Channel did not allow us to go on the show. Instead, they wanted Melanie and Devar. I understand, maybe it's because they're a newer couple."
Since appearing on "90 Day Fiance" Season 2, Jason and Cassia have been active on different media platforms, and even keep a YouTube channel showing their daily lives post-show.
On Thursday, Dec. 9, Jason posted a comment saying that he has no ill feelings towards Melanie and Devar.
"This issue is not Mel/Devar versus Jason/Cassia," he insisted. "It has been from day 1 how the network and production company think they get to decide who plays in their sandbox."
However, the second part of her post bore a tinge of sarcasm. He added, "I am glad Mel and her new husband and the bulldog sister can work out their 'new marital issues.' They haven't been married enough to be any other issue. I get it. That being said. I hope they send me a thank you card. Hope they enjoyed a free 4 day LA trip. I am sure my Christmas card is in the mail."
"We move on to our next show. You win some. You lose some. This time we got sandbagged and lost. The game isn't over yet," he concluded.
TLC has not commented on the controversy. "90 Day Fiance" has been picked up by the network for another season, airing next year.
