While the rumored "Elder Scrolls 6" is not coming out until 2017, many have thought Bethesda's own card collectible game "The Elder Scrolls: Legends" was going to be released very soon.
According to Destructoid, "The Elder Scrolls: Legends" was announced earlier this year during Bethesda's E3 conference. However, news about "Dishonored 2" and "Fallout 4" were much louder that the collectible card game was nearly forgotten after it was announced.
Though "The Elder Scrolls: Legends" is not as highly anticipated as the other big ticket games, there were fans who thought the collectible card game would be released in Q4 of 2015. However, in a tweet, Bethesda's Vice President of PR/Marketing Pete Hines says that it won't be out until 2016 and no release window has been provided. As a response to a fan inquiry via Twitter, Hines wrote, "i think it's safe to say it's not coming in the next 15 days."
According to PC Gamer, Hines has also revealed that "Legends" is already playable but still needs to be polished. Not much has been said about "Legends" but many fans are hoping it would be different from "Hearthstone," which was released last year by Blizzard Entertainment.
At least in the meantime, free-to-play "Hearthstone" is already available on PC, Mac, phones, and tablets. But for those who want to try out something new, "Runescape" developer Jagex has just started a closed beta for its upcoming online trading card game "Chronicle: RuneScape Legends," which promises to give the genre a different twist by making each battle or match feel like a story. According to Gamereactor, each turn is referenced as a chapter and the match plays on a map that pops out of an open book. To get a beta key, one can head to the game's official website to register.
Both "Chronicle: RuneScape Legends" and "The Elder Scrolls: Legends" are expected to come out in 2016.
