Active Time Report for 'Final Fantasy XV' Returns January While Devs Might Want To Avoid Release FFXV At the Same Time as 'Persona 5'

Final Fantasy's Active Time Report, which has been inactive since August 2015, will once again go on air to broadcast an update on "Final Fantasy XV" in 2016. According to GameSpot, the new update comes from Square Enix via Twitter. The Japanese Twitter post, translated in English, goes to thank every fan for waiting and say that the next ATR (Active Time Report) has been scheduled in the end of January 2016.

Square Enix has also announced on Twitter that he said ATR will feature footage of a new battle and a peak into Niflheim Empire among others.

In the meantime, according to Dual Shockers, "Final Fantasy XV" might be released in the same window as "Persona 5." Specifically, a very long survey conducted among "Final Fantasy XV" fans hints that the highly anticipated RPG might come out in Summer 2016. The alleged question that gave away the hit went, "Here's a question for those considering to purchase both Persona 5 and Final Fantasy XV: If both titles were released at roughly the same time, which one would you prioritize (buying)?" There have been reports suggesting that "Persona 5" from Atlus has been slated for release in Summer 2016.

On the other hand, according to IGN, the survey may not hint that "Final Fantasy XV" will be released in the same window as Persona 5. In the said survey, Square Enix also wanted to know why and how fans might be interested with the latter. Therefore, Square Enix was possible measuring fans' interest in both games and see if they would rather avoid releasing "Final Fantasy" with "Persona 5," especially if Square Enix might see the latter as a competitor.

"Final Fantasy XV" will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016.
