Arrow Season 4 Spoilers: Megalyn Echikunwoke is Vixen

"CSI: Miami" actress Megalyn Echikunwoke will wear her real-life "Vixen" suit for a spot in Team "Arrow."

TV Insider exclusively reported that Echikunwoke has been tapped to play the live-action version of the DC comics character she previously voiced.

According to the outlet, "Arrow" showrunner and executive producer Marc Guggenheim announced the latest casting update. The 32-year-old Echikunwoke, who was known for her role as Tara Price in "CSI: Miami," has been tapped for a guest star role in the upcoming "Arrow" episode.

"We’re not only thrilled to be further expanding our DC television universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of the CW Seed hit, Vixen, we’re immensely excited that Megalyn will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe,” Guggenheim said.

Echikunwoke previously lend her voice for the Mari McCabe or "Vixen" in the on-going animated series on CW Seed.

According to the official description by DC Comics, Vixen got her superhero from her family's ancient heirloom called "Tantu Totem." Guggenheim told Vixen Varsity that the African artifact grants her the powers of animal, which she can access "one animal at a time."

“She can fly like an eagle, she can have the strength of a gorilla, she can run as fast as a cheetah," Guggenheim said.

Echikunwoke's character became an orphan after her parents were killed because of the rampant problems present in her area. She, on the other hand, decided not to back down and protect innocent people by suiting up as Vixen.

TV Insider also reported that the actress will appear as a guest star in Season 4, Episode 15. The episode has a tentative airing date on Feb. 24. As of this writing, the show haven't released official details about Echikunwoke's debut on "Arrow."

Echikunwoke was known for her roles as Nicole Palmer in "24," April in "House of Lies" and as Megan Shane in "Mind Games." She recently got a recurring role in "The Following" and will appear in upcoming Lifetime series, "Damien."

This is the latest move made by DC Comics in order to expand its own universe. The company previously succeeded in their TV adaptations, annual "Arrow-Flash" crossovers and the spin-off, "Legends of Tomorrow."

This January, "Arrow" and "The Flash" will return after their midseason hiatus while "Legends of Tomorrow" will also make its debut.

"Vixen" airs new episodes every Tuesday on CW Seed.
