Apple iOS 9.2.1 Public Beta Goes Live; iOS 9.2 Jailbreak Release Confirmed

Apple officially released iOS 9.2 update more than a week ago for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The update brings several bug fixes and improvements, but apparently it was not enough to address all issue. So now, the tech giant is pushing for iOS 9.2.1 and its public beta has already gone live.

There is no official word yet on when Apple will roll out iOS 9.2.1, but reports say that it will not take long. The update is expected to be just a minor one, bringing fixes to the most persistent iOS 9 problems, such as installation issue, Wi-Fi connectivity, freezing screens, etc. We've listed three of the most common issues users encounter after or during the installation of the latest iOS version, along with some tips on how to fix them.

According to NB44, iOS 9.2.1 beta came to registered developers and public beta program users on Dec. 18, just a week after iOS 9.2 update was released to the public. The update, which is available for download at the iOS developer center, has a build number 13D11. Being a first beta, it is not yet available over the air.

The pre-released update is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Apple notes that once the device has been upgraded to iOS 9.2.1, it cannot be downgraded to older version of OS. But Apple keeps signing older iOS versions for a few more weeks after the latest OS has been released, so users can actually downgrade to older iOS version. So if you have installed iOS 9.2 and you kind of regret it, you can still downgrade now.

Meanwhile, iOS 9.2 TaiG Jailbreak has been confirmed, as well as iOS 9.2.1 functionality. There's a video on YouTube where TaiG talks about its plan to release a new untethered jailbreak solution.
