Google Pixel C, a hybrid tablet announced in September, has finally been released. Many think that the search engine giant wants to challenge Microsoft.
One of Google Pixel C's strong points is its full size keyboard and Bluetooth capable, which the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 lacks.
"Sometimes you want a laptop to hammer out a lengthy document. Other times you want a lightweight tablet to sit back and watch your favorite video," Google described its Pixel C device.
The Google Pixel C is 10.2-inch LTPS LCD touchscreen that offers the brightest 2560 x 1800 resolution tablet screen out in the market. It has 308 ppi density and is powered by a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra X1 quad-core processor, 256-core Maxwell GPU, and a 3 GB DDR4 memory. The Google Pixel C body is made out of anodized aluminum.
Google's tablet comes with a 34.2 WHr battery that is said to pump out 10+ hours of use and also contains a USB Type C-port for faster data transfer and charging. The Google Pixel C also has a 3.5 mm audio port. Wifi of Google Pixel C is an 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, which works on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.
The hybrid Google Pixel C tablet also comes with an 8 MP rear-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. The keyboard attaches via magnets, connects and charges wirelessly. Other features include ambient light, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, hall, and proximity sensors. Stereo speakers and a quad noise-cancelling microphones are also included in the Google Pixel C.
Google Pixel C is loaded with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and not the Chrome OS. Since it is an Android-based device, a million applications is available on Google Play. Price starts at $499 for the 32 GB variant and $600 for the 64 GB storage and is available on Google Store.
