‘Marvel Comic’s Mash-up Character ‘Gwenpool’ Gets A Series; Christopher Hastings Says The Debut in April

Marvel Comics mash-up character "Gwenpool" will have a series of its own. Creator Christopher Hastings says the debut in April.

Comic Book says that Gwendoline Pool or otherwise known as "Gwenpool" will be having a series that will be launched this April. The artist Gurihiru and Writer Christopher Hastings will work for Marvel Comics to make this possible.

The character "Gwenpool" was first appeared in the Marvel Universe proper in Gwenpool Christmas Special. She was seen with Howard the Duck, She-Hulk and Hellcat. She then became in style among cosplayers when she was made into a Spider-Gwen/Deadpool mashup character.

Hastings says that "Gwenpool" there will be much to tell about the character. He also adds that there is a real and, at the same time, interesting story that can be told about her. They are not making this up just so people will buy the comics considering that she is very popular as a cosplay character. He says that difficult decisions had to be made but he had fun trying to come up with something entertaining with very little work space. He's pertaining to the 10 page comics that they usually write and draw on.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the appearance of "Gwenpool" has made a huge impact as an unconventional superhero and also in the Marvel Universe. They also say that Marvel will hold on to the original art team that has brought the character to life. Other than Hastings and Gurihiru there are also Naoko Kawano and Chifuyu Sasaki.

Hastings shares that he personally requested for Gurihiru to do the artwork. He finds it to be a wonderful working experience. He says that the art team really does a phenomenal job in storytelling and they're anything a writer would ever ask for in an art team.

"Gwenpool" is said to be the most amazing mercenary since Deadpool. Hastings admits that he really didn't know that the character existed until he was told to write about her. He continues by saying that he finds this opportunity to be exciting writing about a character in a serialized book. Not to mention the fact that there can be a possibility for actual real change for the character.
