‘Fairy Tail’ Anime Part 18 DVD & Blu-Ray Review: Standalone Material Is Better Than The Arcs; Does It Lack More Weight?

"Fairy Tail" Part 18 anime series on DVD & Blu-ray has already been released. It contains episodes 200-212 of Hiro Mashima's anime series.

Anime News Networks reports that the "Fairy Tail" Part 18 anime series on DVD & Blu-ray was released last Dec. 1, 2015. The total running time of the DVD/ BR is 325 minutes. It is sold at $54.98 SRP. The DVD/ BR contains special features like "Guild Pride: Quatro Cerberus, Episode Commentary (200, 205), Textless Opening and Closings, U.S. Trailer, Trailers." The languages include English and Japanese plus the English subtitles.

ANN says the first part of the description of the "Fairy Tail" Part 18 anime series on DVD & Blu-ray reads: "After Fairy Tail makes a triumphant return to Magnolia, it's back to business as usual. The guild starts taking on some seriously odd jobs and gets a sneak peek into the daily goings-on of the Sabertooth Guild - but when something strange starts happening to one of their own, it's a sure sign that things are about to get serious."

Fandom Post gives a review of the "Fairy Tail" Part 18 anime series on DVD & Blu-ray. The review starts with the audio quality. The evaluation is pretty good because "it contains a bilingual show with the original Japanese language track in stereo using Dolby TrueHD while the English track gets the bump to 5.1 using Dolby TrueHD."

As for the video quality, the critic says the transfer from TV series to DVD/BR content is still being "presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 1080p using the AVC codec."It has a lot of bright and vibrant color. Overall, it looks very good. It has avoided significant problems that are normally expected in the transfer.

The packaging of part 18 of "Fairy Tail" DVD/BR looks very good. This release comes out with a "the slipcover is a die-cut one that has a large portion of the front of it open." The logo also has added an additional aesthetic touch in the packaging.

The menu design of the DVD/ BR of "Fairy Tail" is pretty impressive. It is noted that it consistently has the overall framing theme seen on the cover. But as far as the content is concerned, the critic says that he found the the standalone material more enjoyable than the arcs. For him, the arc lacks real weight. What is good with the part 18, it has several standalone pieces.
