"Into the Badlands" season 1 has just ended but the show's creators and cast are already talking about their plans for season 2.
AMC has not yet picked up "Into the Badlands" season 2. However, since the series had a steady viewership of about four million it would be most likely that fans have yet to see the last of Sunny (Daniel Wu) and MK (Aramis Knight), TV Series Finale noted.
According to creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, the production will continue Sunny's and MK's search for enlightenment despite the fact that the duo are professional assassins. "The price of redemption is gonna be steep," stated Millar.
"Even though Sunny and M.K. look like they're being taken far away, Sunny's goal will be to get back to Veil and find M.K. Ultimately, it becomes what the series is called, "Into the Badlands," Gough teased.
He also divulged their other plans for the futuristic martial arts drama. The creator said they will include more Barons, abbots and other regions in the Badlands that will be explored in "Into the Badlands" season 2.
During the first season finale, Baron Quinn (Marton Csokas) was killed by Sunny. However, is he really dead? The creators said Baron is a survivor but the story could go either way. Perhaps Quinn being killed was added into the finale in case the show does not come back for a new season. But since the possibility of a second season is high, Quinn is definitely alive.
Meanwhile, Sunny vowed never to kill again. On the other hand, with "Into the Badlands" season 2 it would be very unlikely that the hero will no longer clip people. Although Sunny's intentions are noble when he made the statement, it would be hard especially if he has darkness in him. Therefore, viewers should not count on him keeping his promise.
