After a well-received "Jessica Jones" season 1, fans of the series are hoping to see their favorite female Marvel character back in action for a season 2, but hope seems bleak for the Netflix show.
"Jessica Jones" season 2 seems to be far-fetched for Netflix producers although the show has received raved reviews from various TV/web series and movie websites, according to Breathe Cast. Melissa Roseberg, the executive producer of the web series, revealed that there is no guarantee that Netflix will be doing a new season given the fact that Marvel plans to make another series titled "The Defenders."
On the other hand, fans are not losing any hope, especially after Krysten Ritter, the actress playing Jessica Jones, commented that there are still so many facets of Jessica's life that is yet to be shown.
Ritter said, "It's such a tricky thing. I'm not supposed to talk about that. But I think there is lots of story left to tell with Jessica and I really love playing the character. I would love to throw on her boots and leather jacket anytime."
The Netflix series ended with Jessica killing the villain Kilgrave (David Tenant). This was done specifically just in case Marvel does not renew the show for season 2. Therefore, if the web series decides to come back for another action-packed season, viewers should be ready for a new villain roaming around New York City.
Whether Marvel decides to shoot "Jessica Jones" season 2 or not, viewers definitely have not seen the last of the PTSD-suffering heroine as she is set to be a part of the Avengers-like web series "The Defenders," Ecumenical News reported.
In "Jessica Jones," Jessica turned back on her superhero duties as she does not really like that kind of responsibility. However, in "The Defenders," the character will be seen going back to her superhero roots and Ritter said it would be interesting to note how and why this would happen.
The full "Jessica Jones" episodes are found on Netflix.
