Vatican Film Critic Gives 'Star Wars' a Thumbs Down, Says Evil Was Not Represented So Well in the Movie

How does one depict the devil or evil doings? This is one of the reasons why Star Wars was given thumbs down from one of the Vatican film critic. Luckily the Pope was reported as someone who doesn't seem to mind since he is not a movie-goer himself.

Star Wars is the most favorite movie franchise this year and it was breaking box office records in millions after millions. Even rotten tomato gave it a super fresh rating after it was released.  It got all the fans excited and the new comers impressed, but not everyone.

One of the film critics for L'Osservatore Romano gave "Star Wars" a thumbs down. Emilio Renzato wrote that Star Wars "modeled on the sloppiest current action films derived from the world of video games. The only merit of JJ Abrams' film is to show, by contrast how the direction of the previous films was elegant, balanced and above all, appropriate."

Renzato went on saying how bad the film was even with the use of computer generated imagery. He thinks it's clumsy and tacky, that it's the worst to be obtained from a computer graphics. According to him, Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine was the best representation of evil from Star Wars past. He went on deriding Supreme Leader Snoke and Kylo Ren as a failure for representing evil.

L'Osservatore Romano is a daily news paper in Vatican is an institution what has almost 2000 years of experience in being disinterested in popular trends. They are used to be reporting on activities of Holy See's and mostly about the Roman Catholic activities. They suggested that the movie was a re-boot than a sequel.

As for the Star Wars all time fans, they have watched and enjoyed and helped with their favorite sequel's record breaking moves.
