Staying on top of the clouds literally by plane is always fun, at least for travelers. Well, who doesn't want to kiss the sky while having the bird's-eye view of the grandest Pacific Ocean? Everything done on top is quite an adventure but not for those who have fear of heights. But, phobias aside, nobody wants a plane crash.
Being on a plane can be a make or break experience. You will have the longing of riding on a plane again if your flight was a smooth flow, but when it isn't, you will surely curse even the very thought of being on a plane again.
However, there's a certain man who adores being on a plane, not as a passenger, but a resident, literally!
Bruce Campbell, who's from southwest of Portland chose to live on a plane he bought at $100,000 in 1999. He parked his Boeing 727 in the woods and spent roughly $120,000 for renovation, turning it into an extraordinary yet happy abode.
In an interview with Great Big Story, Campbell shared details about his plane home.
"Its interior has a 1,066 square feet space without the seats, even bigger than my apartment in Brooklyn," Campbell shares.
"Next time you're in a jetliner, close your eyes for a moment. In your mind, remove all the seats and all the other people, and then open your eyes with that vision and consider the expansive living room," he told Great Big Story
Campbell still preserved the two bathrooms of the plane which he calls a "primitive shower." He also prefers the hamster-head small windows closed, as they literally can't be opened. He won't be enjoying the freshness of the air then.
He also got an electrical engineer to install a sealed pressure canister that would withstand an earthquake and believed that it will practically last forever.
Realty Today was able to get a video scoop from Youtube of Campbell's plane home.
This plane home tale of Campbell isn't the only one in history. There are also people who reside in underground nuclear bunkers and shipping containers. In fact, Red Lane, an ex-airplane mechanic also chose DC-8 to be his home.
This plane-turned-home of Campbell just made him a man who marked in history. What's more adventurous then than this man who's always ready for take off?
