‘Jurassic World 2’ Movie Cast Rumors: Laura Dern, Sam Neill's Characters from Original ‘Jurassic Park’ Movie Series May Appear in Sequel

"Jurassic World 2" is rumored to be casting Sam Neill and Laura Dern from the original "Jurassic Park" movies from two decades ago.

The Twitter account of "Jurassic World 2" posted a telling tweet about a possible comeback of two of the original characters in "Jurassic Park."

"If @starwars can include original cast in their new trilogy, so can @JurassicPark! RT if you agree! #JurassicWorld," the tweet said.

The post is accompanied by a picture of Neill and Dern as Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler from the first "Jurassic Park" film. It is not clear, however, if the production was just kidding when the tweet was posted. Big fans of the film hope it is not a joke, though.

Given that there are other islands with dinosaurs left unexplored in the first four films, it is highly possible that the good doctors are somewhere in those islands, continuing their work. IIt could also be that the two will help out Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) as they fight off those who want to exploit the genetically mutated diinos. With the production still far off from ending, anything is possible.

Meanwhile, it was reported recently that "Jurassic World 2" will focus on more mutated species of dinosaurs like the Indominous Rex. Colin Trevorrow, one of the scriptwriters of the upcoming film, mentioned that they plan to take the story to a new level. Trevorrow meant that the story will touch the relationship between humans and the dinosaurs more than what was shown in the previous films.

The dynamic between humans and dinosaurs was slightly explored during "Jurassic World," between Owen and the raptors.

Another new development for this larger-than-life dinosaur movie is the reversal of role between Grady and Claire. Creators have confirmed that in the sequel, Claire will be the main character, while Owen will be a supporting one.

"Jurassic World 2" will not be shown in theaters until June 22, 2018.
