In the previous issue of Nintendo Dream, they have featured an interview that tacked "The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" and her Tunic. Director Hiromasa Shikata, Designer Keisuke Umeda, and Producer Eiji Aonum shared their thoughts on Zelda and their concept art of how Link's tunic came to be.
In the interview, Umeda explained how costumes are significant to the character being part of the "Tri Force" Heroes. The things are needed to be considered in making a costume were also elaborated by the Designer in the interview.. She even stated that "The first thing is to make the effect [of the costume] easy to understand. Then comes making it look interesting and easily recognizable with colors. Designs were made while keeping these three things in mind."
The creators first showed off and discussed the concept art of the Link cheerleading outfit which could easily represent any country, it was then followed by the Timeless Tunic. Shikata discussed that they wanted a costume that changes the music, pushing them to create NES-like music coinciding with the game and the costume. With the success of allowing the change of music in the game, the Timeless Tunic was born.
In the continuous interview between Nintendo Dream, Shikata, Umeda, and Aonum. The Creators discussed how they were able to implement such style and classic sounds brining the NES feels into their Download Play and Nintendo DS version of the game.
They have also discussed how each costume differ from each other and how it each had a respective role in the game. Along with this were the concept art of the game. In one image it featured a costume that goes well together despite having different colors. While in a Miiverse Miiting, a Pikimin-looking concept art of Princess Styla was also spotted.
