Take a Look at Michael Fassbender's New 'Assassin's Creed' Movie Stills

Just very recently, Entertainment Weekly shared a photo of German-Irish actor Michael Fassbender in a costume on the set of his upcoming movie "Assassin's Creed." Along that photo, Michael Fassbender was reported to have revealed that he has never played the game before Ubisoft approached him for the movie.

The 38-year-old "X-Men" actor will be starring as Callum Lynch. Callum Lynch is a character that has never appeared in the movie but represents all the time-traveling, first-person feat of all the games in the "Assassin's Creed" series. His new role has lead him to play the game since it was offered. According to EW, Fassbender said over the phone, "I've played it since, mainly to get an idea of the physicality of the character."

He added, "We're striving to find something special. We believe the whole concept around it is special and want to service that the best we can. The fans are really passionate: very specific and they expect accuracy and historical detail. We're really trying to capitalize and feed on and enjoy the fun element. We're working hard to make this something special."

While Fassbender is currently working on the film adaptation for "Assassin's Creed," Empire Online was able to obtain two exclusive snaps of the actor on the set of the film. The first photo shows contemporary Lynch in a prison cell with a priest reading a bible. The other one shows Fassbender as the assassin Aguilar, the 15th century Callum Lynch, in a battle.

Besides "Assassin's Creed," there are reports saying that Ubisoft is also planning to produce movies based on its "Far Cry," "Rabbids," "Watch Dogs," "Splinter Cell," and "Ghost Recon" franchises.

The movie will also star Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, and Michael Kenneth Williams. The film will be in theater in December 2016.
