Bran Stark will be seen back in action in "Game of Thrones" season 6 after the character was a no-show in season 5, and a published image of him left fans wondering where he is off to.
Fans are not just waiting for Jon Snow (Kit Harington) to return to "Game of Thrones" season 6, but for his half-brother, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) as well. The first official trailer for season 6 included a voice over of the paralyzed Stark, signaling his return to Westeros.
The new promotional image for "Game of Thrones" season 6 confirmed Bran is indeed returning. The second-to-the-youngest Stark is seen all grown up and has lost his long wavy hair. What caught the attention of the fans though more than Bran's teenage features is that the image shows him riding a horse.
Why is he riding a horse? Where is he off to? Where is he? Although Bran never rode a horse after he was pushed off by Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) from the window of a tower, the picture clearly shows that he could ride one. By the looks of it, Bran could still be outside of The Wall.
It is possible that Bran is still being taught by the Three-Eyed-Raven (Max Von Sydow) to master his fledgling psychic powers. However, there is also the possibility that the young man is on his way back inside The Wall.
Bran's character has been one of the most intriguing especially after surviving the long fall from the tower and having psychic abilities. After the season 4 finale posed new questions about what adventures are in store for him, Bran was never included in the season 5.
However, "Game of Thrones" season 6 seems to highlight the now grown-up Bran. He might just play a crucial role in the upcoming season, with his half-brother dying.
In an earlier report, it has been speculated that Bran Stark may just be the key to Jon Snow's past and future. Jon's unknown lineage may be seen through Bran's eyes as his psychic powers could bring him to a significant event in the past: the time when Jon was born.
Also, seeing that season 5 ended with Jon Snow dying, Bran being able to take hold of bodies may come in handy. He could possess his older brother's body long enough for Melisandre (Carice van Houten) to find the body and resurrect the fallen Commander of the Night's Watch.
Tune in to HBO in April 2016 to find out how important Bran Stark is to the plot of "Game of Thrones" season 6.
