‘Captain America: Civil War’ Upgraded Costumes; Plus A Modern Spider-Man

It seems only natural to report wardrobe upgrades across a series of films, especially if it's something as flashy as a superhero franchise. Directors involved with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, tend to talk about more fantastic things - and so besides costume changes for "Captain America: Civil War," they also shared their thoughts about how to present Spider-Man into the MCU.

You read that right! Joe and Anthony Russo recently discussed how they should go about introducing everyone's favorite neighborhood web slinger in the elaborate, well, web that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Screen Rant tells us that this is the result of the agreement between Sony and Marvel to let the Spider-Man appear in the MCU films.

Sony was reportedly troubled about the rather lukewarm response they got for 2014's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," leading them to cancel countless spin-offs and expansions to the superhero's solo film. Luckily, Marvel stepped in to give our friend Peter Parker another chance to become more amazing.

As for the Russo brothers' take on ol' Spidey himself, Christianity Daily reports that they will go for a young Peter Parker because, reportedly, one of the things they loved about Spider-Man is that he's "still a high school student." They also said that they'll go for a contemporary Spidey (well, more contemporary than what the 2014 film did, anyway); thinking about his life's texture if he had been, for example, a young man living with his aunt in Queens, NY.

On the other side of the discussion, they also talked about Steve Rogers' / Captain America's costume upgrade. They related how they'll work forward from what they'd put out in "The Winter Soldier," saying how the new costume will still be very much in the "tonal texture" that the last "Captain America" film had.

"Captain America: Civil War" will star Chris Evans and is expected to be released on May 6, 2016.
