"Shadowhunters" is one of the upcoming shows on Freeform (formerly ABC Family) that many fans are looking forward to watch. Its premiere date is nearing and the fans are looking into teasers, spoilers and more details about the show.
The supernatural series is adapted from Cassandra Clare's popular novels "The Mortal Instruments," Bustle reported. The story centers on the life of an 18-year old girl named Clary Fray who discovered that she is not an ordinary person but is a human-angel hybrid who will hunt down demons.
The new series will star Katherine McNamara along with Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane, Christian Post reported.
To give the audience a glimpse of what they will see in the "Shadowhunters," a 7-minute sneak peak was released showing how the main character, Clary will meet the other characters and it even featured how a fight with the demons.
Synopses for Episodes 2 and 3 of the show were already released wherein the second episode is titled "The Descent Into Hell is Easy" in which the main villain Valentine Morgensterm will be hunting for The Mortal Cup, Fashion & Style reported.
"With the knowledge that Valentine is alive and on the hunt for The Mortal Cup, the Institute is on high alert. Not wanting to waste time, Jace jumps into action and figures that Clary's memories are the key to finding Jocelyn and The Mortal Cup," the synopses reads.
Meanwhile, the third episode with the title "Dead Man's Party" has a synopsis that reads, "Clary, Jace, Alec and Isabelle work to rescue Simon from the vampire hideout, Hotel du Mort."
Said TV series is produced by McG who said that he is involved in every detail of the show to make sure that it will meet the expectations of the fans.
"I think it's exciting. My style is to be open and communicative and talk about what we can and can't do with the realistic parameters of television," McG said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"But I think everybody's expectations of television is so high now with 'Game of Thrones,' and there's such excellence out there that we plan to recognize that and take it even higher. So I find it empowering and encouraging. I take it very seriously, and I'm doing a great deal of listening," McG continued.
"Shadowhunters" will premiere on Jan. 12, 2016 on Freeform.
