After Jason Thompson's exit from "General Hospital" as Dr. Patrick Drake, fans wonder what is going to happen now to his on-screen daughter Emma, played by child actress Brooklyn Rae Silzer. And now that she has landed a role in a primetime show, will she now exit the daytime soap?
It looks like Emma is leaving Port Charles as well. In an interview with Michael Fairman, Jason Thompson said, "I know this ending is going to take some people's breath away, because they are losing not only Brooklyn, but Patrick, and Robin to a certain extent.
"But the great thing is I know they have plans to bring Brooklyn back when they can. As you can tell, Brooklyn has done an amazing job with her work this last little while. She is growing into such a fantastic actress."
While the 9-year-old star will not be seen in the daytime soap, at least for a while hopefully, Brooklyn has been cast to join "Criminal Minds" spinoff drama "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders." According to Soap Opera Spy, she will play the role of Megan Wolf and will appear in the pilot episode of the CBS primetime series.
Silzer first played Emma on "General Hospital" in 2011. She also appeared in "CSI: NY" in 2012 and "Children's Hospital" in 2013.
"Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" is created and written by Erica Messer and produced by The Mark Gordon Company, CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios. It follows the story of an elite division of FBI who helps Americans in trouble outside the United States.
Brooklyn will star along with Gary Sinise (Jack Garett), Daniel Henney (Matthew Simmons), Tyler James Williams (Russ Montgomery), Alana de la Garza (Clara) and Annie Funke (Mae).
The upcoming drama series is slated to air on March 2, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
