'X-Men: Apocalypse' Update: Olivia Munn In Psylocke Character on Set

The "Newsroom" star Olivia Munn just teased her upcoming Psylocke character on the set of "X-Men: Apocalypse."

According to Collider, the 35-year-old actress kicked off the New Year with a positive outlook. She shared the top memorable moments from the past year including her supervillain role in "X-Men: Apocalypse."

She revealed a brand-new photo on the set of filming on Instagram. In the said image, she was seen in character complete with her skintight dark-colored costume and a massive background to boot.

Munn also shared some awesome details about her Psylocke character, who is a telekinetic telepath.

According to Munn, Psylocke prefers using a ninja sword as her weapon besides her psychic powers. Munn also gave her explanation behind Psylocke's unusual weapon preference.

Collider further noted that Munn's costume is very much similar to the original character from the comics. She is said to be one of Apocalypse's (Oscar Isaac) Four Horsemen.

The outlet also assumed that the neon green background from Munn's Instagram post might involve a "pretty massive" scene as she was surrounded by wrecked cars and other debris.

In the official synopsis from Comicbook, "X-Men: Apocalypse" is the latest installment in the superhero franchise after "Days of Future Past." The story picks up when Apocalypse sought the help of Magneto (Michael Fassbender) for global destruction.

Magneto's old friends, Professor X (James McAvoy) and Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) continue to stand on the other side of the ongoing battle between mutants.

"X-Men Apocalypse" stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, and Lucas Till.

The upcoming film is directed by Bryan Singer and written by Simon Kinberg from the script that he conceived with Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
