Three sizes, four flagship models and earlier release dates -- these are just some of the latest information leaked online regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7.
According to ET News, a Korean publication, Samsung is currently working on two Galaxy S7 projects, dubbed as "HERO." Project HERO1 will have a 5.2-inch flat display, while HERO2 will be a 5.5-inch edge display.
"Samsung Electronics is preparing for two-track strategy to approach premium phone market more in detail," an industry insider reportedly said.
Earlier last month, Evan Blass, a reliable Samsung leakster on Twitter, revealed that there will be four offerings from Samsung - Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7 Edge Plus and Galaxy S7 Plus.
It has also been revealed that Samsung Galaxy S7 will be similar to Galaxy S6 in terms of design, with only minimal changes. Forbes said the next Samsung device will use a new kind of magnesium alloy and Turtle Glass back (instead of Gorilla Glass) which will make Galaxy S7 stronger than its predecessor.
Nseavoice.com, on one hand, reported that there will also be a 6-inch Galaxy S7. Nseavoice.com said Samsung's move to produce bigger S series could be the end for its Note series, which consumers purchase because of its wide screen, battery life and stylus.
In previous years, Samsung releases new flagship models just before the Mobile World Congress; that's around February and March. And then they go on sale from April. For Galaxy S7 series, rumors going around suggest that the new flagship devices will be revealed this January and will hit the shelves in February. This came after an internal presentation of China Mobile (as per Forbes) was leaked online, revealing an accelerated release for the Galaxy S7.
These interesting information remain as pure speculations as of now. But since it's already 2016, it is likely just a matter of time before we find out if any of these turn out of be true.
