'Super Smash Bros.' Glitch Allows Players To Control 8 Amiibos with One Controller

Just recently it has been discovered that a glitch in "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U allows a player to control eight characters with one controller.

A Reddit user by the name of Gluetendo is generous enough to have shared the steps to achieving this in a Reddit thread. According to Gluetendo, the steps require the player to have eight amiibos. He then recommends using a GameCube controller, which can be "de-synced" as he calls it.

The next step involves going to the eight-player Smash mode and moving the joystick until "Player #" or a port space appears. Then the player should click the name part of the port until the word "none" appears. Next, the players should unplug the controller from the port, scan the amiibo, plug it back in. When the player moves the joystick it would still be the player's option to select another amiibo. He should repeat the entire process until the spaces are filled with eight amiibos before exiting from the "Settings." The player should then be able to control eight characters with one controller.

According to GameRant, the same person has shared the steps in the "Super Smash Bros." community page. Thus players should try the steps fast before the glitch is patched in the next update, which is expected to happen in February. There is also a chance that this will not work with Nintendo's upcoming NX console.

Meanwhile, a little further down the forum thread, another Reddit user by the name TheNovamaster28 has suggested that with this glitch and a little modification to the above steps, players one and two can control 4 players at once. TheNovamaster28 adds that after the fourth amiibo, the second controller should be used to perform the next steps for the remaining four slots. Then go to "Settings" and exit from there.

For those who want to see this on video, here is a clip from DrowzeeSpaceman.

"Super Smash Bros." is now available for Wii U and 3DS.
