Those who are expecting that "Iron Man 4" is coming out very soon should not get their hopes up high as rumors suggest it is not happening as soon as most people thought.
According to Cinemablend, the "Iron Man" franchise has become one of the most popular series that Marvel has invested into. Thanks to Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of billionaire Tony Stark, "Iron Man" has risen to become the most popular hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The last "Iron Man" installment was back in 2013, after that Marvel movies like "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" followed a year after. Then "Avengers: Age of Ultron," where "Iron Man" had a big participation released in 2015. "Captain America: Civil War" is releasing this year, and with that we won't be missing our dear Tony Stark. But what about "Iron Man 4?"
According to Cinemablend, there are reports saying that Marvel won't be producing "Iron Man" movies at least in the next four years, which means we won't be getting "Iron Man 4" earlier than 2020. Should not be a concern except for the report that by then RDJ's contract with the studio would have already ended. Thus the fear that fans could be seeing a different face for Tony Stark may not be farfetched. Marvel might go for replacing Robert Downey Jr. for his age not to mention that casting a new actor is financial advantageous for the studio. It is believed that no one can play the part better than RDJ.
The dashing actor is aware that he won't be wearing the "Iron Man" suit forever. According to Screen Rant, RDJ has said in an interview with Empire Magazine, "I also recognize that I'll be turning 50 by the time I promote this movie. The clock is ticking down on the amount of memories and participation that I would allow myself and not embarrass the medium with."
Thus for now, fans should take the opportunity to see RDJ's Tony Stark in this year's "Captain America: Civil War" that will hit theaters in May.
