"Star Wars: Battlefront" has been a huge success since it was launched in November. According to several reports, the first person shooter from EA has sold 12 million copies in only two months, thanks to the influence of the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which debuted in December.
With that, it totally make sense for EA to send updates or new content to its big title as soon as possible. Now, according to Attack of the Fan Boy, there are rumors that the future update for "Star Wars: Battlefront" may introduce more offline multiplayer options, a mode that is currently scarce in the "Star Wars" game.
According to WCCF Tech, someone from the EA support team has revealed this information while having a conversation with a community member. Out of curiosity and for having noticed that "Battlefront" developers seemed to have missed adding "bots" for offline gameplay functions, the community member has asked if there was any possibility that online game modes would one day be made available for offline gameplay.
The EA support person reportedly has revealed that they are currently working on those options and even added that it will be included in the next patch update. This at the moment should be treated with a grain of salt as the source of this report is from a forum discussion among fans on the EA Forums. EA has yet to make an official announcement regarding the patch.
If the rumors are true, it is going to be one major update. The last patch was deployed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Dec. 14 and while no features were added, the patch was intended to rather fix reported issues and bugs in addition to some minor tweaks such as "Increased AT-AT health on Endor."
"Star Wars: Battlefront" is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
