“Iron Man 4” rumors reveal that actor Robert Downey Jr. might no longer reprise his role as Iron Man. With that, many speculate that a new actor might take the role.
In an interview with The Ellen Degeneres Show, Downey hinted that he will be back for the fourth film but in a more recent interview during his appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman," he said that "Iron Man 4" is not happening.
"There [are] no plans for an Iron Man 4," he said according to EOnline and when asked why not, he answered, "That's a valid question. Like it hasn't made enough money? Yeah, I guess they have too much money or something. There is no script for Iron Man 4. They do have a plan and I think they're going to announce it [soon]"
But Letterman still asked once again about the possibility of having him back for "Iron Man 4" and he said, "Just between us, no. But, I'm going to do other stuff with Marvel. I'm still going to be involved with Marvel and there's going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen."
This could be a confirmation that Downey will no longer play the role or he might merely be coy about it to keep it a secret.
With that, there are many speculations about who will get the role. Speculations reveal that it could be Leonardo DiCaprio.
"He looks the most like Tony Stark out of our current crop of high profile actors who might be considered for the role. He looks more like Tony Stark than Robert Downey Jr.. And he, too, has proven himself very capable of playing cocky without becoming too unlikable," Movie Web wrote adding that it would be good for DiCaprio to play a superhero role.
Aside from DiCaprio, other actors who could possibly be a good fit for the role are James Franco, Keanu Reeves, Paul Walker, Michael Fassbender, Ryan Gosling, and Robert Pattinson as speculated by Movie Web.
“Iron Man 4” is rumored to be released by Marvel Studios on 2020, Master Herald reported.
