“Walking Dead” fans are waiting for the return of Season 6 next month. While waiting, fans are looking into spoilers and some details of the upcoming show which includes the introduction of the Hilltop Colony and their leader Gregory.
Viewers are already familiar with the residents of Alexandria and it is already teased that a dangerous group lead by Negan called the Saviors will be introduced in the second half of the season. While Negan is already an additional headache to Rick's group, there is another character that may add to their worries.
A new group of survivors called the Hilltop Colony will be introduced with actor Xander Berkeley playing as Gregory, who is the leader of the Hilltop Colony. The casting of Berkeley was announced back in September but it is just recently revealed that he will be playing the role of Gregory, TV Line reported.
In the comics, Gregory was introduced in Issue 95 and is defined as a man on his 50s who is “self-absorbed” and “cowardly.” His group is having a hard time with the Saviors since they are taking their food and supplies.
When they refuse to do that, the Saviors resort to violence. Rick saw how the Saviors instructed one man to stab Gregory in the stomach and when Gregory asked helped from Rick to deal with Negan's people, he agreed with a condition. Rick asked for enough supplies for the people of Alexandria and they will protect the Hilltop Colony in return.
The comics also revealed that Rick and the Alexandria survivors do not know anything about Negan or the Saviors while the Hilltop Colony isn’t sure if Negan is a real person. But they only get familiar with Negan when he brutally killed Glenn in the comics. It is not sure yet if that is the same plot that the show will adapt. If so, fans should expect to say goodbye to Glenn, International Business Times reported.
Gregory's character leads to a rougher life for Rick's group and will be a major pain for Maggie. He will also play an important role in the introduction of Negan but it is still unknown as to the episode where he will first appear. Fans will be seeing Gregory through Season 7 and he will appear in many episodes, Screen Rant reported.
“The Walking Dead” Season 6 will resume on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 9 p.m. EST.
