Our entire weather cycle has turned unpredictable, and some might say it has gone haywire, because of global warming, and people are encouraged to contribute in helping the planet and lead an eco-friendly lifestyle.
If you want to do your share for the planet, you could start by turning your house into a greener home. Here is a to-do list you could try:
First, make the plants your best friend. You could add some appropriate botanicals inside the house. This move can help absorb carbon dioxide and other gases that contribute to the rising temperature felt inside the house. Plants will help get the temperature down, especially during summer.
Second, use cold water and detergent when you do your laundry rather than using the conventional way of doing it with hot water. And while you're at it, you should not keep the tap water running while brushing your teeth or shaving. You need to save water as much as possible.
Third, you need to save water in showers, too. To save more water while enjoying the drizzly feeling on your head, you should use a low-flow showerhead.
Fourth, you could try and minimize from using your car all the time. If you need to go somewhere and it's not too far, you could try walking. That's good exercise for you while helping the environment.
Fifth, if possible, try not to use paper too much. You can try making use of Google Drive or e-Bills for file storage.
Sixth, avoid toxins inside the house like the cigarettes. These kinds of smoke should be left outside the house. At least, the air inside the house will remain clear and it will prevent any members of the house from having any health problems like cancer.
Seventh, the kitchenware should be made from cast iron, enamel-coated aluminium and stainless steel. If not, you can also opt to use non-stick pans to cook meals for the family. You should also use clay containers for cooking. For storing something, they should get clay or steel containers, not using plastic. As much as possible, they should avoid using plastics.
