"Yo-Kai Watch," the highly anticipated video game from Nintendo, was released today. Several retailers have hosted special events midnight of Thursday, Nov. 5, to welcome the release.

The "Yo-Kai Watch" was made available in select Best Buy stores since Thursday midnight. The store locator can help determine if the shop within one's vicinity will be hosting a midnight sale or not.

"Yo-Kai Watch" fans can also check if their nearest Walmart or Target stores will be offering the "Yo-Kai Watch" at midnight.  Reportedly, lines during midnight releases are shorter in these two stores, although it is advised that before proceeding, buyers should first check the store locator for the availability of the Yo-Kai Watch.

Pre-ordering the "Yo-Kai Watch" from Gamestop means one can get the exclusive Jibanyan pin. There is a store locator available, so shoppers can choose where they want to pick up their new copy.

The same Jibanyan pin was also made available at the Nintendo World Store in New York City since Thursday.  Additionally, the store will host a special event on Saturday, Nov. 7, with Akihiro Hino, the CEO and president of Level-5 Inc., to make an appearance between 1 and 2 p.m. The first 75 people to queue at the venue will be able to meet the executive, up close and personal.

The "Yo-Kai Watch" video game is making waves in Japan, and although it does make a resemblance of some of the Pokemon franchise, there are things that are quite unique about it.  It has hours of gameplay with an engaging story, plus a deep battle system, iDigital Times reported.

A "Yo-Kai Watch" gamer plays as either Kate or Nate, and the gamer will put on an in-game device called the Yo-Kai watch. The adventure begins as the virtual butler Whisper assists the gamer in their quest throughout the land of Yo-Kai.
